PATRICIA ADERIBIGBE
Group Head, Human Resources
What do you think power dressing is about for women?
I think power dressing is all about dressing appropriately
and being confident and comfortable in what you
wear. It involves knowing your body and shape and the
styles, colours and textures that work for you. It is akin to
finding your own voice in a room full of people. If you
do this consistently, it eventually becomes an inherent
part of you, like your culture. As such, those that know
you well can easily tell if you would or wouldn’t wear an
outfit. All these points are encapsulated in the Bank’s
Dress Code Policy.
What informs your style of dressing?
I have a vintage edge to my style which I incorporate
from time to time. I also like youthful pieces. Majority of
the time, I just go with the flow.
Who is your favourite designer?
Not sure I have one. I like whatever looks nice on me.
What is your favourite accessory?
I think my most favourite accessory would be shoes and
I guess scarves occasionally
Do you dress for men or for other women to appreciate?
I just dress to look and feel good.

What informs your style of dressing?
That I am an executive or business lady, ambitious and
confident.
How important is fashion to you?
Fashion is very important to me because I express my iden-
tity through it. To me, it does not mean wearing something
that is worn by the supermodels. It’s about combining
your clothes according to your own opinion and creating
a unique style. People who dress well and follow fashion
trends are more noticed than those who do not care
about their clothes and styling.
What do you think power dressing is about for women?
Power dressing is an old concept whereby women had
to wear powerful-looking clothes in order to earn respect
from their peers in the workplace. Today, Women have
their standing in the world and they don’t have to wear a
suit jacket to prove their authority. Power dressing to me is
all about the right attitude.
Flats or heels?
I prefer heels
Weave or natural?
