Branch Manager (Tchad)
What do you think power dressing is about for women?
Appearance is very important for a women, for her per-
sonality and for the work that she has been recruited
for. Power dressing is about respecting the bank’s dress
code, being charismatic and professional.
My job as a relationship officer in UBA requires selling
our brand, inspiring respect and looking credibility.
What informs your style of dressing?
My dress style is all about gaining the customer’s trust,
reflecting trust, the bank’s values and credibility. It’s
about reflecting a good image of the bank, the qual-
ity and professionalism of employees recruited by the
bank.
Do you dress down at the weekends?
Yes, I always keep it simple. However, the manner and
type of dressing is dependent on the occasion.
Who is your favorite designer?
My favorite designers are Dayl, Zara and H&M.
Do you dress for men or for other women to appreciate?
First of all I dress to feel good about myself and to
reflect the good image of the bank.
JUDITH AKINJOBI
Regional Director – Relief (Kaduna, Nigeria)
What informs your style of dressing?
What I wear is guided in most parts by the environment
and the dictates of the occasion in view. I like to be
comfortable, simple and classy.
How important is fashion to you?
I do not see myself as being particularly fashionable
because I don’t go with trends. I dress to be comfortable
and to look good always.
What do you think power dressing is about for women?
Power dressing, for women, generally refers to turning
out in a sense that conveys some level of authority or
position. It is a fashion style outside the traditional that
has become the “in thing” for most professional women
and has become the choice of many ladies, albeit to fit
in. However, while I believe that one’s mode of dressing
must be expressive of her style, I go always for what gives
a sophisticated look and adaptive to the environment I
find myself in.
Flats or heels?
As occasion demands.
Weave or natural?
I go on both.
