FASHION
Though most Liberians in urban com-
munities have adopted the western
form of dressing, the Country cloth
remains the face of Liberian fashion.
To date, it is still making fashion state-
ment among the rich, poor, young
and old. It is made in strips and sewn
together to make a bigger strip of
cloth. The bigger strips are fashioned
into different styles to suit the individual
taste. Most men make a fashion state-
ment by sewing the popular vai shirt
that is unique to Liberia. It is also used
to make gowns or dresses for women.
