GMD Attends US Government Roundtable at WEF

The Roundtablewas aimed
at mobilizing private capi-
tal for Africa’s infrastruc-
ture through identifying
and advancing needed
regulatory reforms.
In his contribution, GMD
urged African govern-
ments to advance a pen-
sion policy framework that
will ensure the deployment
of idle pension funds, in
excess of USD 380 billion, to
fund infrastructure projects
across Africa.

UBA wins Corporate Citi-
zens Award
UBA on Thursday, May 21, 2015, won the Corporate Citizens
Award in the ‘Extensive Compliance Category’ at the
maiden edition of the awards organised by the Corporate
Affairs Commission (CAC) at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel,
Abuja, Nigeria.
The award was received on behalf of the bank by Dan
Okeke, Executive Director, Abuja and East Bank.
The Corporate Citizens Award is open to all registered com-
panies in Nigeria and seeks to promote the culture of good
corporate governance in the Nigerian environment.
26 companies including UBA made the final list from over
800 companies that were considered and emerged one of
the 9 winners.

Mr. Kennedy Uzoka, Group Deputy Managing Director and
CEO UBA Africa, was in Burkina Faso on Tuesday, June 23,
2015 to get a firsthand experience of the Group’s opera-
tions in the country and also used the opportunity to visit
interim President of Burkina Faso, Michel Kafando.
He was accompanied on the visit by Joel Touré, the
Managing Director/CEO UBA Burkina; Justin Damo Barro,
Chairman of the Board of Directors of UBA Burkina Faso and
Muyiwa Akinyemi SBG Head, UBA Africa Wholesale.
DMD briefed President Kafando of the Group’s operations
in the country and also affirmed the commitment of the
bank to Burkina Faso.
The MD/CEO, UBA Burkina, Joel Touré restated the bank’s
commitment to its operations in the country.
