UBA Chairman Visits Zambia
UBA Academy Gets Advisory Board
and New Director
Sierra Leone’s first online shop,
INSONS was launched on
Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the
Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel,
Freetown. This was done in part-
nership with UBA and Airtel.
Welcoming guests and the media
at the ceremony, the CEO of
INSONS, Mr. Dilip Narwani, gave
a brief background of the com-
pany.
The MD/CEO, UBA Sierra Leone,
Ndubuisi Ejiofor, in his remarks at
the ceremony, disclosed that
UBA Sierra Leone will be provid-
ing a payment gateway through
U-Collect to the new online shop-
ping platform.
“With U-Collect customers can use
their Mastercard and Visacard to
buy goods from the shop from
anywhere in Sierra Leone or in the
world” Mr Ejiofor said.

UBA Chairman, Tony O. Elumelu, on
Thursday, June 11, 2015 visited the
UBA Zambia headquarters in the
capital city of Lusaka, and chaired
both a Board meeting and an infor-
mal town hall meeting with staff.
The meeting was attended by more
than 100 members of staff including
UBA Zambia CEO, Stanley Ugwueke.

customers where the Chairman and
staff interacted with customers, shar-
ing ideas on how UBA Zambia can
serve them better.
During the visit to Zambia, Chairman
also attended the 22nd AGM of
the African Export Import Bank and
later met and interacted with the
Zambian Entrepreneurs selected for
the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship
Programme.
A new Director, Mr. Robert F. Wheeler,
has been appointed and an Advisory
Board inaugurated for UBA Academy,
as part of efforts to revolutionise train-
ing and skills development Group-
wide.
Mr. Wheeler, the new Director of UBA
Academy comes with significant aca-
demic experience garnered from Ivy
League Business Schools.
A new Advisory Board has also been
inaugurated by the Chairman, UBA
Plc, Mr. Tony O. Elumelu on Monday,
June 22, 2015.
