Climate
Kenya’s variation of tropical climate
along the coast, temperate inland
to arid in the north and north-east,
makes it an exceptional attraction to
hundreds of tourists. It is hot through-
out the year; though July is relatively
colder. And as one moves away from
the coast on the Indian Ocean, the
low plains rise to the central highlands
before being bisected by the Great
Rift Valley.
By taking a safari-for which Kenya is
renowned-tourists can see this idyl-
lic climatic and geographic transfor-
mation. Kenya is home to “Out of
Africa,” a place where setting out on
an adventure became an age old
tradition. Thanks to its variety of land-
scape, wildlife and diverse human
cultures, Kenya has continued to wel-
come hundreds of tourists.
The Maasai Mara
is a must see
There are numerous memorable sites
for a safari in Kenya. But the Maasai
Mara reserve is a must see in any tour-
ist itinerary. The reserve is 588 sq miles
of open plains, woodlands and river-
side forest, which teams up with an
array of animal species. Here, tourists
are likely to spot large grazing herds
of Zebra, Giraffe, Gazelle, Buffalo and
Topi.
Kenya is the first
African country
to establish an
Ecotourism Society &
lend credence to the
concept of ecotourism
through practice.”
