N100M Ebola Pledge: Tony Elumelu Foundation Presents
$300,000.00 to Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia

r. Tony Elumelu, Chairman,
UBA has lent a helping hand
in the fight against the Ebola
scourge in Africa. Through the Tony
Elumelu Foundation (TEF), he has made
a pledge of N100million towards the
Ebola containment and relief efforts.
In redemption of this pledge, TEF
recently presented cheques of $100,000
each to Sierra Leone, Guinea and
Liberian governments. The cheques
were presented to the Presidents of the
three countries by UBA Executives in the
country subsidiaries, on behalf of TEF.

Koroma of Sierra Leone thanked The
TEF for the support and also used the
opportunity to congratulate Tony
Elumelu on his appointment as Chair-
man of the Board of UBA Plc.
Similarly the Liberian Leader, President
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf extended her
deepest thanks to Mr. Elumelu and
his Foundation for the humanitarian
gesture. She praised TEF for being the
first institution to make a significant
contribution since the outbreak of the
virus early this year.
The Guinean President, Professor Alpha
Condé thanked the TEF and UBA Group
for the support and the humanitarian
gesture and also thanked Mr. Tony
Elumelu for contributing to the fight
against the spread of Ebola virus across
the affected countries.
The Tony Elumelu Foundation was
established by Mr. Tony Elumelu to
promote entrepreneurship in Africa.
