THE KEDOUGOU CASCADE,
DINDÉFÉLO ...THE FALL FROM
PARADISE
Located in the Kedougou
Dindéfélo, it is a natural cove
with a breathtaking waterfall. A
paradise on earth, which offers
great scenery, Dindéfélo is also
a nature reserve that is home to
the last population of chimpan-
zees in Senegal.
Dindefelo has an eternally
mild climate, populated by just
about 200 people. The sound
of the waterfall on rocks day
and night, provides a soothing
sound to the ears of all those
who visit the place.
It is a natural paradise, land-
scaped by nature with lush
greenery and nestled pools of
water, so clear and beautiful,
that they act as mirror to the
clouds with visitors cooled by
the cool air from the wet Sen-
egalse winter.
Not far from here is the Lbel
Hills, which is in the heart of
Blédougou, more than an
hour’s drive from Kedougou
(Southeast). The hills are so high
that they give the impression
of touching the sky, and so it is
described as by visitors as the
place “so far from the world,
and so close to God.”
