The Lion King Magazine | July - September 2016 - page 22

What is the most embarrassing thing
that has ever happened to you?
Ayo:
This was in September 1996 when
after about one month at GT Bank,
I was called a rookie during credit
presentation
Note:
I would actually not have even
noticed that this was something to be
embarrassed about 20 years ago!
What are you most scared of?
Ayo:
Failure
Note:
Second ED that has mentioned
failure as something they are scared
of. What does this say about people
who aren’t afraid to fail?
What is the funniest thing you have
ever seen or experienced?
Ayo:
No answer
Note:
those dance moves at the last
Jogging to Bond though…
What would you do if you weren’t
working at UBA?
Ayo:
Lecturing
Note:
I should have placed a bet on
that answer!
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Ayo:
Having to cope with non-
resourceful and non-aspiring people
Note:
Ayo Liadi would turn the most
non-aspiring person (does this double
entendre work?) into a top achieving
individual

ASK THE EXECUTIVE
| IN BLACK AND WHITE
ChukwumaNweke, Executive Director,
Operations & Technology. We call him
Chuks. He is enigmatic and always
so calm. He exudes this confidence
that makes you feel that any task
he undertakes will be executed to
perfection. Hear what Mr. Nweke has
to say:
What is the most embarrassing thing
that has ever happened to you?
Chuks:
Cooked bitter leaf soup for the
family, including my mother-in-law! It
CHUKWUMA NWEKE
turned out really disastrous and tasted
as bitter as quinine malaria drug.
Note:
lol! I always knew there was a
reason why it was called Bitter leaf
stew. Thank you Chuks for uncovering
the mystery.
What are you most scared of?
Chuks:
Heights
Note:
Yes. They can be scary when
you look down from the Eiffel tower
or an Ivory tower or any kind of tower.
What is the funniest thing you’ve
ever seen or experienced?
Chuks:
Watching a crab eat
Note:
Now this had me cracking up. I
have only ever eaten crabs. I haven’t
ever come across one outside of
dinner.
What would you do if you weren’t
working at UBA?
Chuks:
I would love to be a history
teacher.
Note:
I am convinced that the smartest
people are teachers whether they
teach formally or impart knowledge
through their own professions.
What is your biggest personal pet
peeve?
Chuks:
Washing dishes
Note:
Especially right after cooking
bitter leaf stew…
