is ultimately what endeared me and I’m sure a lot of
other fans to the character.
Buffy Summers
(Buffy the Vampire Slayer):
My 8-year-old self watching this show thought
Buffy was the coolest because she was a girl who
wore cute clothes as she saved the world over and
over again and beating bad guys up. Watching this
as again though as a young adult, didn’t change my
sentiment. She showed me you don’t just have to
be the biggest or strongest to win; you have to be
smart and courageous which Buffy definitely was.
Though it also wouldn’t hurt to have some super
powers as well.
Alicia Florrick
(The Good Wife)
You know the saying ‘men will disgrace you’?
Alicia Florrick was the perfect example of that. The
series starts off with Alicia as the typical disgraced
politician’s wife whose husband has been publicly
exposed as a philanderer and decides to stick by
him. However, when the same husband is also sent
to prison for abusing office, Alicia is forced to start
over again and go back to work. Over the course
of the series, we watch Alicia become a strong
confident lawyer who wins most of her cases, while
also navigating a complex workplace and fighting
against people seeing her as an extension of her
husband. She transforms from a timid woman into
an ambitious, occasionally ruthless, confident and
sexy lawyer who does not suffer fools lightly and it’s
a fantastic transformation.
Veronica Mars

As a teenage private investigator, Veronica broke
the mould for young characters. She wasn’t popular,
rich or technically pretty on the show (even though
