UBA Lions Roar
Loud in Cameroon
and Nigeria
UBA Lions FC, Nigeria and UBA Lions
FC, Cameroon have both clinched
the highly coveted Bankers Games
trophy in their respective countries.
The Lions of UBA Cameroon won the
Apeccam Football Association (AFA)
Football Cup Tournament. AFA is
the Bankers’ Football Association of
Cameroon, which organises the an-
nual interbank football competition
for banks in the Country. The Lions
were participating in the finals of the
competition for the third consecutive
year and won the highly contested
match against their traditional rival,
BICEC bank.
Similarly, in Nigeria, UBA Lions FC
emerged champions of the Bankers
Games for the fifth time, after they
defeated their perennial rivals, Skye
Bank by a lone goal. The team’s
victory was spurred by the presence
and motivation of the UBA Chairman,
Tony Elumelu and DMD Domestic
Bank, Apollos Ikpobe, who were
physically present at the finals to
inspire the team to victory.
