Nkechi Abana and
Olubunmi Ikhifa recognised
for outstanding performance
UBA Bags Corporate
Excellence Award at
CIBN 50th Anniversary

wo staff members, Nkechi Abana of AP Plaza,
Adetokunbo Ademola, Abuja and Olubunmi Ikhifa
of Downstream and Projects, Corporate Banking
Directorate were recently rewarded during a special TGIF
(Thank God it’s Friday) organised at the Head Office in
Lagos, Nigeria, for outstanding performance.
Speaking at the event, the GMD/CEO,
Mr. Phillips Oduoza said the two staff
members have been given automatic
promotion to the next level in recognition
of their excellent performance. He
emphasized that the Bank has, and will
always recognise and reward staff whose
performance is outstanding.
The two staff members were also
presented with certificates and letters of
commendation by the GMD/CEO and
the Executive Director, HR and Customer
Service, Ms. Obi Ibekwe, at the event
which had in attendance members of the
EXCO and other senior members of staff.

The event was attended by Ms. Obi Ibekwe, Executive
Director, Human Resources and Customer Service, Ayodeji
Adigun, Head Strategy and Business Transformation,
Tomiwa Sotiloye, Head of Strategy, and leading players in
business and the Nigeria financial industry.

BA has been recognised at a night of
glamour and reward for excellence in
the ballroom of the Intercontinental
Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. UBA
was recognised for its immense contributions
to the Chartered Institute of Bankers Nigeria
(CIBN). UBA is one of the four founding
corporate institutions of the CIBN.
A ‘Corporate Excellence’ award was
bestowed on UBA at the 50th anniversary
dinner of the Institute, in recognition of
the bank’s success, major achievements
and contributions to the Nigerian banking
industry as one of Africa’s leading financial
institutions.

Mr. Apollos Ikpobe received the award
plaque from Mr. Segun Aina, President and
