n furtherance of UBA’s commitment to Education and Human
capital development in Africa, UBA has donated a fully equipped
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Centre built
by the bank’s CSR arm, UBA Foundation, to the African University of
Science and Technology (AUST) on Saturday, May 4, 2013.
The GMD/CEO, Mr. Phillips Oduoza was accompanied by the
Coordinating Minister of the Economy in Nigeria, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-
Iweala, the Nigerian Minister of Science and Technology, Prof.
UBA Cameroon Celebrates 5th Year Anniversary

BA Cameroon rolled out the
drums in celebration of its 5th
year anniversary in grand style as
the event was marked with week-long
activities which commenced from April
6 to April 13, 2013.
The activities were aimed at
engendering bonding and reinforcing
relationships with various stakeholders,
driving the visibility of UBA brand
across the country as well as thank the
Bank’s customers for supporting UBA’s
growth in Cameroon.
Major activities marking the
celebrations included Football
Tournament, Kick-off of Customer
Service Week, Hospital and
Orphanage visitations, Customer
Satisfaction Survey in various Business
Offices, conference-debate, Read
Africa / Books donation to Secondary
Schools and a Gala Night.

of the institution. Mr. Oduoza said
UBA’s support to the institution
was borne out of the need to
contribute to the educational
growth of the continent.
The ICT Centre built by UBA
Foundation is fully equipped
and is expected to be used
for the advancement of
education in the Pure and
Applied Mathematics, Petroleum
Engineering, Computer
Science, Theoretical Physics and
Material Science & Engineering
departments of the school. The
African University of Science and
Technology (AUST) is the first of
the Nelson Mandela Institutions
(NMIs). It was established in
Abuja, Nigeria, in 2007, as a
centre of excellence in science
and technology with a focus on
African development.
