80’s
The Colourful 80s
If the 70s was the era of the flared jeans, the 80s was the era of leggings and colour. This was the decade where exercise became trendy (Jane Fondastyle) and I would say this was the decade that invented ath-leisure. Power dressing for women became a big thing as women wanted to prove that they were equal to men, especially in the work place, using shoulder pads and bigger sleeves to give them a more masculine figure and to fit in with the male majority. It was the period where women started using blush and bright coloured lipstick, especially red and pink colours.
