Interswitch Awards:
UBA emerged winner in two major categories at the
prestigious Interswitch Awards and Gala. The awards are
the ‘Fastest Growing Bank Partner’ which represents the
bank with the most impressive performance in Verve card
issuance and the ‘Payment Innovation Driver for Trade
Finance’. Both awards lend credence to the bank’s domi-
nance of the digital banking space and resolve continue to
deploy innovative solutions that put the customer first.
Asian Banker awards 2017 (Middle East and
Africa Edition):
UBA won the prestigious Asian Banker Technology Innovation
Awards 2017 in recognition of the bank’s Finacle 10 system.
The Asian Banker Technology Innovation Awards Programme
provides the undisputed benchmark of the technology
innovation in an increasingly fierce mar-
ketplace. This award is viewed as the
most prestigious, comprehensive and
transparent recognition programme of
its kind globally.
Marketing Edge Awards -
Financial Brand of the Decade:
UBA also emerged the Financial Brand
of the Decade at the Marketing Edge
Awards. The award, in recognition of
UBA’s innovative and pacesetting role,
was a product of painstaking review
and assessment of the iconic contri-
butions of the brand to the growth,
development and continuing evolution
of the Nigerian banking industry. It also recognised UBA’s
commitment to the adoption of global best practices in the
Nigerian banking sector.
The awards session was dedicated to outstanding brands
(both corporate and product) and to personalities in the
integrated marketing communication industry aimed at
promoting the brand idea, in line with the company’s
vision. The award also celebrated the career exploits and
achievements of brands, agencies and nominees of which
UBA emerged the big winner.
