017 was also a good year for UBA staff. Despite
the tough economic environment prevalent
on the continent, the bank promoted 3,000 of
its staff across the Group.
Also, as part of efforts to drive the bank’s phi-
losophy of ‘One People, One Bank’ and ‘Excellent
Service…Delivered’, the GMD/CEO, Kennedy Uzoka
engaged directly with all staff across the Group.
The GMD who spoke TED-talk style during the differ-
ent strategy cascade sessions, inspired and moti-
vated staff in a well-articulated and informal man-
ner, delivering on the Bank’s Strategy, Essence and
Goals in the short and medium term with a special
focus on delighting customers.
