I can’t believe how fast this year has gone and that we are on the
last stretch already. It’s been over 365 days since the new GMD, KU
took the reigns and we assess how well he has done in that time.
(365 days of KU’s Administration… page 42). So much more to do
yet as we continue to launch exciting innovations. I am particularly
thrilled by the new mobile banking App which is making waves as
the best mobile banking application in the market. We talk to our
new Ambassador Seye Ogunlewe who is the fastest man in Nigeria
today (page 16). And I am pleased to say that you can download
your new UBA mobile banking App faster than Seye can run!
UBA is truly Africa’s global bank and if some of you have ever
wondered and not been so clear about what we do in London
and New York, this is your opportunity to get well informed (pages
12 and 22).
On a lighter note, even if you don’t know what we do in London
and New York, I am almost certain that you know that UBA men
are some of the most dapper men in the industry and across the
continent. The image most people have of people working in
the financial industry is of stiff men in suits. And I must admit I also
thought this was the case until I started working at UBA. UBA lions
have smarts and also turn out quite nicely. We put out a survey
monkey to poll the top ten best-dressed men at UBA Group. In free
and fair elections, the poll came up with these ten men (UBA’s Top
10 Best Dressed Men... Page 46). They represent some of what we
stand for and it starts from within. When you look your best, you feel
proud and are better able to deliver excellent services. I hope you
are inspired by these top ten best-dressed in our group.
The next edition of the LKM will feature the best-dressed female
staff at UBA. That is going to be hot! As you all know, Lionesses don’t
play. Look out for the survey monkey in your inboxes and if you are
female, ensure you make the list because we have some super
special prizes lined up for the winners.
