Sierra Leone Business Awards:
UBA Sierra Leone won three coveted awards for
the ‘Best Bank of the year 2016’, ‘Best Brand Bank
of the year 2016’ and the ‘Outstanding Business Leader of
the year 2016’ which went to the MD/CEO of UBA Sierra
Leone, Mr. Ndubuisi Ejiofor.
UBA was given the awards in recognition of the bank’s
demonstrated support and commitment to good cus-
tomer service, sound community stewardship, good corpo-
rate governance principles, innovative products, business
excellence and socio-economic growth in Sierra Leone.
The Awards was organized by the Sierra Leone Council of
Chief Executives (SLCCE) in collaboration with the African
Council of Chief Executives, Inc. (USA) and the Africa
Media Corporation, Inc. (USA).
CFO Awards:
UBA repeated the outstanding feat it recorded
the previous year at the 2nd edition of Nigeria
CFO awards, and even went a notch higher when the
Group Chief Finance Officer (GCFO) and the Finance
Team bagged a treble at the awards night which was
held recently in Lagos, Nigeria. The bank won the following
awards; CFO of the Year; Financial Innovation Project of
the Year and Finance Team of the Year. Ugo Nwaghodoh,
UBA’s GCFO was ahead of other nominees in the banking
category, to emerge CFO of the year.
The Finance team of the year was also given to the finance
division of UBA for our exceptional performance in the year
under review, which the organiser say resulted in the bank
emerging as one of the resilient performers in the Nigerian
banking industry, despite the economic downturn.
