global recognition in attestation to this. Here are highlights of the
awards received in the last quarter of 2016.

UBA cleans up awards this season
The Banker Awards:
UBA dominated at the keenly contested global banking awards
in London, winning 5 country awards. UBA won ‘Bank of the Year
2016’ in Gabon, Congo-Brazzaville, Senegal, Cameroon and Chad. The UBA
haul was one of the highest by any banking Group and a key highlight of
the ceremony, which recently took place at Hilton London Bankside.
The annual Bankers Award is organized every year by The Banker Magazine;
a publication of the Financial Times. The awards aim to highlight industry-
wide excellence within the global banking community. Over 1,000 applica-
tions are collected and judges select winners, based on pre-set metrics that
measure progress over the past 12 months.

Outlook Awards:
At an award organised
by Global Business Outlook in the
United Kingdom, UBA won ‘Best
CSR Bank in Nigeria 2016’ and
‘Best Customer Service Bank in
Nigeria 2016’ while the GMD/
CEO, Mr. Kennedy Uzoka won
the ‘Best Banking CEO in Nigeria
2016’.

The SERAS CSR Awards-
Africa:
The Bank’s corporate social
responsibility activities was accorded
prime recognition as UBA beat other
large corporates in the CSR category
including; Lafarge, MTN, Nestoil, P&G,
Exxon Mobil and Shell, to emerge best
in CSR in the West African region
at the 10th SERAs (Social Enterprise
Report Awards) ceremony recently
held in Lagos, Nigeria.

sustainable development in Africa.
Finacle Client Innovation Awards:
UBA was adjudged winner in two categories at
the recently concluded Finacle Client Innovation
Awards 2016, organised in India by Infosys Limited; the
corporation that provides business consulting, information
technology and outsourcing services to financial institu-
tions across 19 countries. The bank won the 'Award for
Process Innovation’ on account of its innovative approach
to transaction authentication and reconciliation and also
clinched the award for 'Project Management Innovation'
as a result of the outstanding work it has done on imple-
menting a multi-country migration of Finacle core banking
solution using the Clustered Rollout concept. The awards
were keenly contested for by financial institutions with over
160 nominations received from across different banks in 94
countries.
The Finacle Client Innovation Awards recognizes some
of the breakthrough innovations achieved by the clients,
leveraging Finacle solutions. The award celebrates prod-
uct, channel/distribution, customer service, process, cus-
tom component development and project management
innovations that have benefitted banks by increasing rev-
enues, profitability, enhancing customer satisfaction and
efficiency.
