“
We are set on an aggressive growth strategy”
EMEKE IWERIEBOR Deputy CEO, UBA Africa
Iam pleased to join the Board of Directors of UBA Kenya in congratulating the entire staff and management of UBA Kenya as
we celebrate the bank’s auspicious 10- year anniversary.
UBA opened its doors in Kenya in the year 2009 as a greenfield operation. The bank has since continued to fuel the growth of the Kenyan economy by performing its critical role of providing financial services to Kenyans.
Our decade of business in Kenya has seen the bank performance showcase marked improvement across all key indicators including deposits, PBT, and CIR. We intend to do better in 2019 and believe that we are on the right course, as we strive to understand, embed and serve our markets better.
Kenya is one of the largest African econ- omies in which UBA has presence. Con- sequently, we are focused on making this subsidiary impactful in the group as we continue to deepen and strengthen our operations in the country.
Today, the bank is set on an aggressive growth strategy focused on the three crit- ical pillars of People, Markets, and Results. By remaining focused on these, I believe the bank will reach the end of its Transfor- mation Journey - making UBA a top three Bank and a Systemically Important Bank (SIB) in Kenya.
