THE LAST WORD
BY IBRAHIM OUMAROU
THE LITTLE PUSH
A
year ago, the idea of becoming
a motivator came from all the
struggles I have experienced in
my life. The turning point came from
the challenges that I went through in
my first professional experience as a
leader out of my comfort zone, and
I had also to make a radical decision
to provide a new direction to my pri-
vate life.
I realized that you must always act in
accordance with your values, make
decisions based on what is right with-
out compromising your integrity and
accept responsibility for your choices.
When you have issues at work you
tend to lean on family to balance your
thoughts and vice versa. However,
when you have issues on both sides,
you are left alone in the darkness and
that’s what happened to me. At this
point it doesn’t matter whether you
are right or wrong because you must
have the courage to never give up
and be flexible in looking for solu-
tions that will enable you to move
forward positively. You must find some-
thing to hang on to and, in my case,
it was finding my spirituality through
praying, getting mentoring or advices
from experienced individuals, family
or friends and watching motivational
videos.
As a result, I discovered a new me,
a more mature person as a human
being and as a professional. I know
that because I feel more confident
than ever, I am moving forward posi-
tively in my life because I love what I
am doing, I know exactly what I want
and where I am going. I am more
patient and take more time to listen
to the issues of others and provide
counselling or advice based on what
I went through. There is always some-
thing magical that happens when you
succeed in turning sadness in to hap-
piness on somebody's face.
It’s when you are out of your comfort
zone and experience struggles that
growth and maturity occur. You know
it because you feel it within your guts.
Since then, I feel the need to serve, a
desire to help and give back to people
around me through coaching, coun-
selling and caring. Having a sense of
purpose in your life will enable you live
longer and realize your dreams. Keep
the faith in yourself.
Being remembered as someone who
was always there to provide support or
help to those facing challenges and
assist them in making a difference in
their life, will definitely be a life worth
living. There is a greater growth in
helping people around you to grow
first and as a result grow through their
growth. This is the purpose I choose for
my life and I’m inviting you to join me
in this wonderful journey.
Happy New Year!
