JULIA’S PAGE
By Chinedum Akpala
If I know how to save a name
I will love you to fame
I will learn your smile without shame
I will always keep you in my frame
I will light you up with love
Like a burning flame
I will bear the blame
Your mild demeanour is sharper than
a blade
Your page in my heart will always be
the same
Even though we turned out like
candle flame
LOVE RENEWED
By Mahmuda Idi
We met just like a spark of the match
stick
Love at first sight
To travel on the lane of emotions
Love overall dream
A vision of good intent coming
through
No more groping in the gloomy
cocoon
With disbelieving allies
Neglecting the journey to my destiny
They act saints like a wolf in sheep’s
coat
With inclination to con true love
desires
Alas causing wreckage
Suddenly God sent her
Picking pieces of a wreck so precious
So apparent my Angel
Her aid was timely
Taking my heart away
Miles away like a tornado
To partake in my journey to happiness
As we march to the podium
Bon voyage.
RUINS OF POMPEII –
THE SURVIVOR’S PRAYER
By Moshood Azeez

Ash swept over the land
geometrically:
With a charred skin, and roasted
palms
I will be a semi-living testament!
The wave has come and gone,
The world, dark has it become,
I will rise from the dark gate of Hades;
Recycle through infernal pains,

‘Tales by Moonlight’ by Nonso Nduanya (Acrylic)
I will be back to life!
Seconds ago, we were fragmented,
Shattered and wholly disintegrated
Under the toll of ash, three-thirds soul
Were crumbled, save a remnant few
I will recombine!
My sins were burnt to dregs
My flaws, under ash, were exposed
