Who are your role models and why?
Bill gates of Microsoft, Larry page and
Brin of Google, Mark Zuckerberg of
Facebook. These are my role models,
because they have built great com-
panies from their knowledge, hard
work and have been able to achieve
their dreams without deviating from
their discipline. I am not saying it is
not good to diversify, but if you make
money in and industry you like and are
in love with, it makes you happy. So,
as a software engineer, I hope to do
the same.
Where is this business going to?
My target is to streamline the payment
industry and smart phones. I have set
a 10-year target from 2015 to reach a
billion dollars valuation or even closer.
So that is 2026 latest. I know it is a big
dream but I am not afraid to dream
big because it is only through that, you
can make remarkable things happen
on earth.
What has been your biggest chal-
lenge so far?
Time. This has been my biggest chal-
lenge; I am currently in my Fourth year
at the Makerere University and have
also been in business for four years. So
balancing studies, life and business is
challenging. But when you have no
option in life but to succeed, you have
to make sacrifices and still make it in
the crucial areas. So I ensure I keep
my grades in my studies, keep business
moving and growing and avoid losing
my life to work.
What is the sweetest part of running
your own business?
The sweetest part of running my busi-
ness has been paying my University
tuition for 4 years now, paying my
younger brothers and sisters’ school
fees, assisting my parents financially
and building a brand as AMONSOFT
CORP, a brand that did not exist some
years ago and living a happy life. Am
also learning daily. The experience
that comes from the ups and downs
of the business is unmatched. And
am sure no one in the world can have
the same experience and so it’s what
I use to build myself, friends, business
and family. The sweetest part is “You
able to control your destiny without
any limitations”.
