elix Houphouët-Boigny,
was
born October 18, 1905 in
Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire
and died on December 7, 1993. A
medical doctor, he was President of
Cote d’Ivoire from its independence
in 1960 until his death in 1993. Under
his leadership, the country became
one of the most developed nations
in sub-Saharan Africa.

Other interesting sites are; the Basilica
of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro,
the Bridge of Man creepers, St Paul’s
Cathedral in Abidjan, the Museum of
Costume of Grand Bassam and the

es, bridges, the Presidential Palace,
