Killing Friday
By Nonso Nduanya
I
t’s the last working day of the
week and there is a general
aura of euphoria as the
long awaited weekend break
approaches. You feel good and
want to look good too. Mondays
to Thursdays are easy; you just
need some dark suits
and dress shirts to get
through the week.
But Fridays...? A bit
complicated, you
would say. You do
not want to come
out looking too
serious and stodgy
or sloppy on the
other hand. Striking
a balance within
the borders of the
dress code policy
can sometimes
be tricky.
Here are some
tips to help you
‘kill’ your Friday
dressing every
other Friday.
The
Smart
Native:
Alternate
between plain
white and blue
native outfits.
Keep it smart -
well starched and
fitted - slap a cap
on and step out
looking regal and
ready for serious
business.
The
Blazers:
Blaze the trail in
a classic business
casual ensem-
ble – navy blue or
black blazers over
plain or stripped
white or blue long
sleeved dress shirt
and neatly pressed
khaki or dress pants.
Glide through the
day in well polished
black or brown
leather loafers.
The
Suited:
Play safe - when
in doubt - go for
your regular suit.
Do away with the
tie and step-up
your style a notch
with a neck scarf.
Add a touch of
class with a bright
silk pocket square
and rock your
Friday with the full
confidence of an
achiever!
