AS HOR- Complex 3 ARMS Zone, Maitama
Business Office has emerged first prize winner
of the 2012 Bancassurance Awards. This was
unveiled during an award dinner organised by UBA
Metropolitan Life Insurance Limited, on Saturday,
May 19, 2012 at the Four Points by Sheraton, Victoria
Island in Lagos, Nigeria.
The second prize went to NAS Senate Complex 3
ARMS Zone, Maitama Business Office while UBA
House Business Office, the erstwhile grand prize win-
ners, clinched the third prize.
Explaining the mechanics of the award, the Ex-
ecutive Director, Business Development, Mr. Henry
Ationu, stated that the First Prize winner will get a
5-day all expense paid trip to Cape Town, South Af-
rica, with an additional cash award of N200, 000 to
the Business Office, the first runner-up gets a 5-day all
expense paid trip to Cape Town, South Africa, with
an additional cash award of N100, 000 to the Busi-
ness Office, while the second runner-up gets a cash
prize of N200, 000 to the Business Office and other
nominated Business Offices will receive consolation
prizes.
Responding to the Award, the representatives of the
top three winners; Abdullahi Nma, Samuel Agwu,
and Kayode Olashore expressed their heartfelt ap-
preciation for the recognition and promised to sur-
pass the effort in the coming financial year.
The event had in attendance, branch managers of
the nominated branches, staff and top executives
of UBA Metropolitan Life Insurance Ltd as well as UBA
Plc.
The award which commenced in 2009 for FY08, is
an annual event that is held in honour of the top
winners of UBA Metropolitan Bancassurance com-
petition in recognition of their performance in gen-
erating life insurance businesses for the preceding
financial year in line with the company’s Bancassur-
ance strategy.

another laurel as one of the
Bank’s e-Banking products, U-
Mobile was adjudged the e-Banking
Product of the Year.
The award, under the auspices of
Beacon of Information & Communi-
cation Technology (BoICT) Awards, or-
ganised by Nigeria Communications
Week, Nigeria’s leading ICT maga-
zine, was conferred on the product
for its ‘solid base for transaction and
innovative services across Africa and
beyond’.
The organisers acknowledged the ef-
forts of the Bank in deepening e-Bank-
ing transactions through U-Mobile,
notably by hosting the U-Mobile appli-
cation on Apple Apps Store, thereby
ensuring easy access worldwide.
