Arising from Lake Victoria, the Victoria Nile
river forms the upper section of the Nile River
(World’s longest river which flows through
Northeastern Africa into the Mediterranean Sea)
and flows about 300 miles.
Country Focus
year 2015/16, the economy grew by
4.8 per cent in real terms. Uganda’s
real GDP growth forecast remains
unchanged at around 5 per cent for
2016/17, 5.5 per cent for 2017/18 and
6.0 per cent for 2018/19.
Uganda’s inflation remained largely

line inflation was recorded at 5.4% in
May 2016. Consumer prices in Uganda

Uganda’s economy has impressively
remained resilient amidst a volatile
global environment. Over the last five
years, Uganda’s real GDP growth has
