T
he line between living online and offline has grown
very thin in recent times, with online banking becoming
perhaps the most convenient way to carry out all kinds of
financial transactions. Banking online, however, comes with a
plethora of risks. Cyber criminals parade cyberspace looking
for whose money to steal. In this edition of Lion King Magazine
(LKM), our in-house IT experts reveal the operational secrets of
cyber criminals and offer tips on how to stay safe online. This is
a must read for all.
Have you always desired to speak a second language
especially considering that you work in a multinational
institution like UBA? Language corner is your opportunity to
speak a second language. Start by getting to know how to
pronounce the alphabets in French, the French-way. This and
the new section on food (delicious African delicacies) are
two new additions to look out for in this edition of the Lion
King.
Africa is erroneously perceived as a country, thanks to the
foreign media, who are quick to project the continent as
a country ravaged by war, famine, corruption and such
negatives. The truth is that Africa is home to 54 countries, with
some of the most beautiful places on earth. No two countries
in the continent are the same.
Our ‘Country Focus’ takes you to Congo Brazzaville, showcas-
ing what differentiates it from other African countries. A read
will set your holiday juices running. Martin Che, the MD/CEO,
UBA Congo Brazzaville, also has some interesting things to tell
you about UBA and the Republic of the Congo.
As with previous editions, we have again tried to put together
another compelling Lion King magazine for all Lions and
Lionesses. Whilst wishing you a happy read, please endeav-
our to send us your comments and feedback.
Thank you.
