Intro
E
xcellent customer service is a cliché in the corporate
world. It is the badge every company wants to wear,
but the biggest desire most customers never find. Organ-
isations desire excellent customer service because it is
considered a strong competitive edge.
Excellent customer service, it has been proven, not only
attracts customers, but also builds the loyalty of existing
customers making it difficult, if not impossible for competitors
to attract them.
There is hardly any coherent definition of what excellent
customer service is, however, a customer instantly knows
when he or she has been given excellent customer service.
As a bank, one of our cardinal objectives under Project Alpha
is to continue to raise our customer service standards. This
edition of the magazine has been specifically dedicated to
“Customer Service” delivery.
From a multi-dimensional aspect, different writers have
looked at the concept of customer service with the aim
of not just informing staff but also empowering all of us to
become service champions, so that every customer gets the
“wow” factor in all service points online or offline.
Though this edition is dedicated to customer service, we
have not however forgotten your regulars. We take you to
Chad, the “Toumai” land, full of various attractive tourist sites.
Aliyu Salami, MD/CEO, UBA Chad, also speaks about UBA in
Chad and what the bank is doing to support the country’s
economic reforms and dominate the banking industry.
You will also find interesting, the anthology of poems from
staff. It reveals the creative juice flowing among many of us.
We are confident you will enjoy reading this edition of LKM
once more. We cherish your feedback, so please let us know
how you truly feel about LKM through internalcommunica-
Beautiful gifts await the best three
feedbacks, positive or negative.
