52 | The Lion King
V
ery new in the midst of the
lions and lionesses at the
Airport Business Office of
UBA Ghana, I have realized the
drastic transformation I have to
go through to become a Lion.
I am a two-month old cub, who
just completed his first degree
from the University of Ghana
(Legon). With a lot of zeal to
become the leading financial
analyst in Ghana, I grabbed an
opportunity to do my National
Service with UBA. As a fresh
graduate, with no experience
in the banking world, it has
not been easy to grasp the
fundamental role of each
department in this diversified
financial institution.
My fellow cubs, will attest to the
vigorous training we have been
through to transform us into
bankers fit for the task ahead
and give our best as we serve
our country. The training bridged
the gap between school life and
the corporate world.
I always thought that school
life was not easy but my little
taste of the corporate world has
redefined my thinking. Waking
up early, skipping meals and
following policies is a whole
new set of challenges that I
was hardly prepared for. I am
however confident I will adapt to
these changes pretty soon.
Though the work has been
challenging, my colleagues
have been there for me, to put
me on the right track when I look
lost. Our strength as a “pride”
is what keeps us motivated
to aspire to achieve the best
results.
Long Live the UBA Pride!!!
