Dear Lions and Lionesses,
In my New Year Message to you I wrote
extensively about our plans for year
2013 and the collective responsibilities
of all of us. I want to use the platform of
the Lion King, our quarterly journal to
reiterate that message as we settle into
the new financial year.
2012 was a watershed in our financial
performance as an institution and
marks the beginning of our next phase
of growth. I have severally commended
you all for the 2012 performance and
I have no doubt that we will achieve
and surpass our targets for 2013 and
beyond with the recently launched
3-year transformation program, tagged
PROJECT ALPHA
.
The key feature of Project Alpha is the
adoption of an “aggressive mode”
in driving the execution of our key
strategic initiatives, in order to achieve
our objective for industry leadership by
2015. Accordingly we will be focussing
and channelling our collective energies
towards the execution of the following
key strategic initiatives among others:
• Repositioning our Business Offices for
Deposit Drive
• Aggressive Account Acquisition and
Reactivation
• Customer Service Transformation
• Regaining Leadership in e-Banking
play
• Regaining Leadership in Trade
Dear colleagues, it is important to re-
emphasise that a key requirement for
the
achievements of our goals, is the
adoption of an “aggressive mode”
in the execution of all the initiatives
.
Indeed, the success of Project Alpha
rests on our ability to execute flawlessly,
timely and consistently. The spirit of
execution excellence must permeate
the entire Bank.
Let’s re-dedicate ourselves to making
significant contributions to the
achievement of a more resounding
success, as we march gallantly towards
reclaiming our industry leadership
position.
