D/CEO, UBA Ghana, Mr. Oliver Alawuba
recently hosted 52 Most Valuable Person-
nel (MVP) for the 2011 financial year at an
award and dinner ceremony held in their honour at
his residence in Accra, Ghana.
UBA MVP Awards is an initiative that rewards role
models and consistent performance in the respec-
tive functions. The award reinforces one of UBA’s
seven key pillars - Employee Involvement and Staff
Motivation. The awardees were presented with a
customized 2011 MVP lapel pin and a cash gift as a
token of the bank’s appreciation of their efforts.
The award recipients were the inaugural set of
MVPs in UBA Ghana. According to Mr. Alawuba,
“the drive and passion that these staff have shown
in their commitment to excellence in their roles is
what has taken UBA Ghana to the position of role
model in Africa”. He challenged the MVPs to keep
up the drive and aspire to be among the best in
2012.

Attends Mining Conference
A
delegation of UBA Senegal led by
the MD/CEO, Mr. Jean–Luc Konan,
on Wednesday, November 7, 2012,
participated in the 2nd Senegalese
Mining Conference and Exhibition which
took place at King Fahd Palace Hotel in
Dakar, Senegal.
The Exhibition which was organized
by the Ministry of Energy and Mines of
Senegal in collaboration with AME Trade
Ltd., is one of the largest mining events
in West Africa and brings together
international investors, experts, Directors
of financial institutions, Senegalese and
African policy makers, technical and
financial partners as well as other key
stakeholders in the mining industry.
The event availed the UBA team
an opportunity to meet some of its
customers operating in the mining sector
as well as prospective customers.
