he Group Publisher and Managing Director of Eu-
romoney, Mr. Neil Osborn who visited Nigeria and
met with leading financial institutions, made our
bank the very first port of call. On May 8, 2012, he met
with Executive Director Corporate Bank, Mr. Ifeatu One-
jeme, who represented the Group Managing Director,
Mr. Phillips Oduoza. Osborn congratulated UBA for its
first quarter performance stating that Euromoney will
provide a platform to help tell the exciting story of UBA
on the continent.
The ED Corporate Bank reiterated the bank’s 3 year stra-
tegic intent and the Africa expansion plan of the bank.
“Our Africa expansion is turning out quite well with a few
pleasant surprises in Guinea and some other countries
where we broke even in record time”, he stated.
While thanking UBA for the warm reception, Mr Osborn
harped on the good relationship between the Bank
and Euromoney, saying, “I hope Euromoney can be of
help to you as you work to make UBA better understood
outside Africa.”
Leveraging on the long standing relationship between
both institutions in the areas of training, advertising and
editorial support, both institutions agreed to collaborate
further for the mutual benefits.
A
team of UBA Liberia staff led by the
MD/CEO, Mrs. Chioma Mang recently
paid a courtesy visit to the President
of Liberia, Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf. The
visit was aimed at unveiling the vision and
plans of the bank for fostering growth and
development in Liberia’s financial sector, as
well as to explain the banks products and
services including the introduction of the first
and only Liberia Dollar ATM Service by UBA.
