In 2013, UBA Kenya became the first bank in Kenya to offer iTax services at
its branches, having piloted the project with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). iTax is an online tax filing system, that was launched into the market by KRA.
In 2018, the Chairman of UBA Group, Mr Tony Elumelu visited Kenya and met with the President, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta. During the visit, the Chairman and his delegation discussed and agreed how UBA Kenya can play a more significant role in mak- ing a positive impact to the economy of
UBA’s chatbot, in Kenya, a market first that is yet to be surpassed. Since incep- tion, UBA Kenya has improved its ranking from 42nd position out of 43 banks in 2012 to 29th position in Q3 of 2018. The bank looks forward to further growth into a Systemically Important Bank in Kenya.
