Happy New Year good people
Last year just zipped by in a flash. December came so fast. Usually
this happens when the year has been eventful and in a good way.
We marked a lot of positives at UBA from all of our cumulative
hard work. Check out the Season of Awards (page 12). It would be
hard to imagine any other African bank was able to get so many
recognitions in one year.
The year kicked off to a good start too with the appointment of
five new ED’s and our new CEO, Mr. Uzoka. Whose first address to
staff assured all that we are one bank, one people. He continues
to let us know this as the new culture change was launched in the
New Year. If you haven’t been reading your emails, read about the
core values (page 16).
The focus on digital this past year was intense and it will get even
bigger in 2017. Many innovative processes were launched and
our digital platforms upgraded. REDTV was all the rave and was
trending for most of December with new shows receiving acclaim.
We are going to work hard to have another great season of awards
at UBA.
I don’t do New Year’s resolutions but I do have a script that I follow
very closely. Have you written yours, and are they realistic and
achievable? If you feel they are, there is no better time than now to
put things in action. After all, our new corporate statement is about
delivery and our core values spells out how important execution is.
I wish you all a terrific 2017. And don’t forget to drop a note to let
us know what you like and what you do not like about your Lion
King Magazine.
Enjoy.
