PUNCTUATION
An English professor
wrote the words,
“Woman without her
man is nothing”
on
the blackboard and
directed his students to
punctuate it correctly.
The men wrote:
“Woman,
without her man, is
nothing.”
The women wrote:
“Woman! Without her,
man is nothing.”
THIS IS NOT MY
JOB
This is a story
about four people
named EVERYBODY,
SOMEBODY, ANYBODY
AND NOBODY. There
was an important
job to be done and
EVERYBODY was
sure that SOMEBODY
would do it. ANYBODY
could have done it,
but NOBODY did it.
SOMEBODY got angry
about that, because
it was EVERYBODY’S
job. EVERYBODY’S
thought ANYBODY
could do it, but
NOBODY realized that
EVERYBODY would do
it. It ended up that
EVERYBODY blamed
SOMEBODY when
NOBODY did what
ANYBODY could have
done.
Employee:
I have been
here 11 years doing three
men’s work for one man’s
pay. Now I want a raise.
Boss:
Well, I can’t give
you a raise, but if you’ll
tell me who the other two
men are, I’ll fire them.
