A HINT OF CHARISMA
Michael Nwabuzor
A certain presence has filled the room
Body language that exudes confidence
Telling vivid tales of the creature that treads this path
His sway and smile
Speaking volumes of his nobility
Provoking inquiry and notes of gossip
No hint will do, no one can tell
About this dramatic entry,
his wink and nod
gives nothing away
He saunters on in a mocking grin
Gesturing with his arms that he can’t speak
He maybe as dumb as donut
But sold a dummy that endured for long
And held them spellbound for so long
commanding a presence they could not fathom.
LIFE’S VIEW
Oluwafemi Olabanji
Life, so interesting
What I see
Is not what you see
Correct are you
So am I
Life; viewed differently
No matter how you view it
Where you view it
Whatever your view is
It’s just your view
What; where; how you view
Not all that is to life’s view
Black I may see
White you may see
That is just the angle life turns
to you
I see a part
You see a part
Part of mine and part of yours
Makes a stupendous whole
Life’s progress is in the full view
RHAPSODY OF A LOVER
Nonso Nduanya
My heart beats so hard
I feel like my head will explode
My veins throb fiercely
Pounding like angry pistons
Memories abound
Every moment relived
Relished in flawless lucidity
Perfecting the imperfect details
For time is my foe
So fast, so slow, never still
But wait, I must
This embrace, my reward.
POT POURRI OF LOVE
Prince Ayewoh
I Found You
In your eyes, I behold the calm reassurance of a
hope fulfilled
In your arms, I receive the warm reassurance of a
love so strong
In Your Kiss, I receive the breadth of life and an
enduring resurgence of a love so eternal
In your heart beat, I feel the powerful conviction
of two lives, nay two destinies, intertwined as one
You are mine, and I am yours
From one life to another, eternity upon eternity
My Flower In Spring Tide
Very tenderly, my Love for you blossoms like a
flower in spring tide
Tended with loving hands and heart
Feeling no strain or pain
Glowing with radiance too beautiful to behold
Beloved and lovely, evergreen in appearance
With a fragrance, so warm and inspiring
I am too enamoured to surrender
Yet, surrender, I must
To your wild embrace
Your passionate affection
Made in heaven, savoury and flavoury
Time, be still, the seal of cupid, behold
A Dance Of Love
With every dawn of a new day
My love for you adorns a new gay
As the sun rises with each day
Your love lights up my day
Mesmerizing are your steps
Scintillating are your eyes
Suave and elegant is your hips
Poignant and charming is your lips
The mood is easy
The drums beat to a frenzy
The gyrations are crazy
The crescendo is ecstasy
