Dear lions and lionesses,
A
s with previous editions, The Lion King Maga-
zine delivers 60 pages or more infotainment.
This edition is no exception. The first half of the
year has been quite eventful and positive for us. Not
only did we surpass our financial targets for first quar-
ter of 2012, there is renewed vigour and determina-
tion on the part of all lions and lionesses to exceed
the targets for the entire year.
Welcome to our quarterly themed “The cash-lite cus-
tomer: life made easy by UBA’s e-banking products”,
aptly chosen to enlighten you on our e-banking ini-
tiatives though designed to make banking easy and
convenient for customers.
Learn from Mrs. Emem Etuk; whose career in banking
happened by chance, but today is a Regional Bank
Head and multi-award winner. She is featured in the
“Ask the Executive” segment.
In our quest to make the Lion King Magazine more
inclusive, we have introduced a new feature – “Shar-
ing Experiences” which takes you into the private
diaries of members of staff. The responses were quite
overwhelming. Whilst we will endeavour to publish all
entries, we can only accommodate one at a time.
Africa Day has become a regular feature in our cal-
endar of events. This year’s celebration was as usual
with pomp and pageantry as UBA joined the rest of
the world to celebrate Africa day in style. We cap-
tured it all and a lot more.
Happy and delightful reading!
